Terms & Conditions
Our full terms and conditions can be read below:
- The public nomination process will be open for a period of 3 weeks – starting on Monday, September 5th and ending on Monday, September 26th 2022. Nominations submitted after the closing date will not be deemed as valid.
- Nominations are limited to the specific categories mentioned on this site, and suggestions are not invited for additional categories. The organisers will be running other awards events that will cover categories outside of those featured here.
- Nominations will not be taken in person or by telephone, but only: 1) via the form on this website or 2) by post to the address on the contact page.
- To nominate a business, you must be over 18 years of age.
- Employees and contractors of Midlands 103, their immediate families and those of all associated sponsors and businesses directly associated with the awards are not eligible to nominate and will not have any direct or indirect part in or influence on the judging process.
- Businesses may be nominated across more than one category, where appropriate. However, multiple nominations which are deemed by organisers or judges to be excessive may be discounted/deemed invalid.
- To be eligible for nomination, a business must be trading/running as a business, and individuals must be employed in their nominated roles, both at the time/date of nomination and of the judging. The nominee’s normal place of business must be physically located in either one of counties Laois, Offaly, Westmeath or an adjacent county.
- Nominations may be discounted in the first instance or may be later removed from a shortlist or shortlists if they are deemed to be inappropriate for the competition due to ineligibility for the chosen category, closure, conflict of interest or any other reason considered valid by the organisers or judges.
- A shortlist of the businesses receiving the highest number of public nominations will be compiled & those businesses will be notified of this & given the time & opportunity to opt out if they so wish. Following this short confirmation period, the final shortlist will then be published on this website.
- Businesses on the final shortlist will be assessed by the judges for the purposes of potentially being selected as overall winners in their award category. The dates of this judging process will be publicly announced via social media, but the nature of the assessment may not be publicly disclosed.
- The judges’ decision on shortlisting and category winners is final. No correspondence will be entered into with regard to judges decision-making methods, nomination eligibility or terms & conditions.
- Winners will be announced at a gala awards ceremony in the Midlands Park Hotel on Monday, November 14th. Tickets (which are limited in number) can be purchased by contacting the Midlands 103 ticket line on (0818) 300 103 (9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday), or by emailing tickets@midlands103.com. NB: Previous events have sold out well in advance and it may not be possible to accommodate all those who wish to attend, so early booking is recommended.
- Winners will receive a specially commissioned engraved trophy at the awards ceremony. Winners will also be provided with a graphic for use on their website or social media. No alternative award, cash or otherwise, will be offered in lieu of this prize.
- Winners will be required by Midlands 103 to participate in a photo shoot. Midlands 103 retains the right to use such publicity photos in any medium including this web site & social media posts.
- Midlands 103 reserves the right to use all recorded or live video or audio material involved in the awards ceremony on air or in press.
- A full list of winners will be published on this website and on Midlands103.com after the awards ceremony takes place.
- By their participation, shortlisted businesses & individuals taking part in these awards agree to abide by these terms & conditions, which may be altered as the organisers see fit, but which will always be available in their latest iteration on this website.
- In order for any objection to any of these terms & conditions to be dealt with, such an objection must be notified to the organisers in writing (post or email) as early as possible.
